  09.02.09 : Tech For Food 2009 : only 10 days to register




For this 3rd edition, the M.S Swaminathan Research Foundation will be the Tech For Food guest . The event will highlight several initiatives using new technologies to develop agriculture in emerging countries.

Participatory videos and mediated instruction to share good agricultural practices


  Digital Green is a Microsoft India Research Center project which will be introduced at the next Tech for Food Symposium.The goal is to teach farmers to use digital cameras to show best agricultural pratices (conservation, composting, treatment ...). The agricultural population implicated becomes "field reporters" to interview model farmers. Then mediated screening sessions are organized in villages with facilitator. Digital Green delivers education, entrepreneurial and entertainment content. Using cost-realistic technologies such as TV, DVD or laptop broadcast informations in rural areas where bad agricultural practices are still frequent.

Eric Glover, Head of Science Technology and Environment Courrier International magazine , Jean-Paul Hébrard, editor of Agriculture & New Technologies will debate with scientists and Tech for Food audience. Pascal Faucher from CNES (French Space Agency) and Bernard Bachelier from FARM foundation will surround specialists to try to bring answer to the agricultural challenges of tomorrow.

India: technologic revolution for agricultural development

Professor PC Kesavan will introduce the MS Swaminathan Research Foundation actions in India. He's going to explain how "evergreen revolution" uses eco-technologies to fight against hunger and enable rural people to sustainably manage natural resources. The French Ambassador of India will support ISRO scientists ( Indian Space Agency) and will explain how satellites datas are transmitted and used today on the ground.

For the 3rd year, the International Tech For Food Symposium will occur at the International Agriculture Show in Paris to highlight numerous initiatives involving new technologies to enhance agricultural development and food security in South countries.

Tech for Food 2009 : India as honour guest.

The 2009 edition will take place on the 25th of February with India as honour guest. In the years 50-70, the country set up successfully the green revolution and it is nowadays precursor in using new technologies for agriculture. The Symposium will emphasize the lessons to learn from these indian experiences. One of the Symposium important time will be the introduction of Professor Kesavan from the Swaminathan Research Foundation which lead the « evergreen revolution » based on the principles of social inclusion in access to technologies to enhance income and environment.

Tech for Food : share and broadcast knowledges

The event will propose initiatives using new technologies for agricultural development, debates between experts and participants and also launching of ground actions:

Nokia Life Tools, project launched in 2009 in India: Service to follow weather, seed market prices, updates of agriculture techniques news with a direct access from farmers cellphones.

lSRO, the Indian Space Research Organisation will introduce their last space techniques and their applications in agriculture. We will have the honour and the pleasure to welcome His excellency Mister Ranjan Mathai, Indian Ambassador in France who will open the afternoon session.

The 2009 edition will present numerous agricultural web platforms and propose a debate on how to enhance their appropriation in developing countries.

New technologies : driving force for agricultural development

The Symposium will gather experts from many horizons to develop solutions in order to resolve the food crisis. Initiated by the press group TV AGRI, Tech for Food was joined by renowned partners such as FARM (foundation for agriculture and rural life in the world), CNES (french space agency, BASF or the French Ministry of Research.

  28/01/08 : Tech For Food 2008 will welcome Youba Sokona, Sahara and Sahel Observatory Executive Secretary


Youba Sokona will participate to Tech For Food second edition: technologies to fight against hunger in the world, which will take place in a month at the International Agricultural Show in Paris. He will make us the honour of pronouncing a speech as the Sahel and Sahara’s Observatory executive secretary (OSS), an international organism working in desertification prevention. To promote a sustainable agricultural development in the South, Tech For Food’s second edition will get onto the central contribution of new technologies to natural resources management. Initiated by TV Agri, renowned partners rapidly joined up the symposium, from which the French National Space Centre (CNES), the Foundation for agriculture and the rural world (FARM) and the Research Institute for Development (IRD).

  08/01/08 : Tech For Food 2008: New technologies to enhance agricultural development and food security in developing countries


The Tech For Food symposium’s second edition is launched! It will take place on the 26th of February 2008 at Internation Agricultural Show, in Paris. It will gather projects holders from all around the world, development and technologies experts, NGOs, researchers, … Tech For Food was initiated by TV Agri press group (Agriculture & Nouvelles Technologies), and was rapidly joined up with by renowned partners (French National Space Centre, Farm, IRD, Cirad, Basf,…). The initiative aims at facing the innovations democratisation’s challenge to fight against the essential stake of world hunger. The use of mobile phones will be stressed as they are a true boost to agricultural trade in developing countries.
